How about we have a top eight, like myspace? There would be a link, maybe below the main profiley thing, where it says, view your top eight, and in your account settings it would be, edit your top eight. Then in your settings there would be a list from 1-8, and then there'd be username edit box next to each number.
what exactly would be the purpose of this top 8? I don't use myspace so you'll have to enlighten me.
I was the one who thought about this suggestion. Thanks for starting a post on this Ayana, it would be cool if users can customize the number of people they want on their top friends ranging from top 8, 16, or 24.
This again, sounds like a popularity contest. and as another poster suggested, what would be the point of this?
Dusty, there really is no point at all to the top eight, except to show which people you like best out of all your friends. Which is counterproductive and unnecessary, in my opinion, but ahwell. I doubt it's going to happen--similar things have been suggested and shot down. Goes against the whole community thing this site tries for, encourages cliquishness, blah blah blah.

Right, I see. Do you *really* need to tell the Zone who you like the most? Don't you already know? I can see it now, he starts a flame board because he feels he's more of a friend than her, and she's higher in the top 8 than him. I suspected it was a popularity contest idea and that's been confirmed. There's no point or need for it. Besides, I couldn't come up with a top 8 since I hate you all equally.
My cousin said that to me once Dusty. This is a bit of a tangent but I said, if you could get rid of me or your brother chris who would it be? And she said, I don't know, I hate you equally!

How to do your own top eight...
Assuming You're interested in it, you can use the ol and li tags for this. Look closely.
I think you should have a "fr's" list. That way, you can easily click on your frs to send messages, listen to their profiles, read their info, etc. I also think that the blog thing should be open to all users, and that premiums should have the choice to a. dispay to all, b. display to Zoners only c. display to friends only d. private. Then, your friend's list could be for blogging, too.
well i think the friends list is not really a bad idea, and the ability to go in only friends mode if we're turning all the other qn's off, and for premium to send and receive messages from the people in their list even when they're invisible, that would be cool
The zone don't need a top eight. If you want to contact them firest ASAP just remember their ID number.
I don't know about anybody else, but I'm not gonna remember all my friend's ID numbers! That's impossible!
We had, in the past, been really against a friends list, or at least sending quicknotes to friends. But the site has grown quite a bit since the original idea so I'm willing to reconsider. Not sure about the top 8, but friends perhaps. What would be the purpose, though? On Facebook, you can't see a person's profile unless they've added you as a friend. I don't think we want to go that far, since I do like having profiles viewable by all logged in, etc. Ideas? Let's think this out a bit.
